Hector: The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.
For me, the quote above best sums up my feelings about the movie
The History Boys.
Scripps: Cheer up! At least he speaks to you. Most guys wouldn't even speak to you. Love can be very irritating.
Posner: How do you know?
Scripps: That's what I always thought about God. He must get so pissed off, everyone adoring him all the time.
Posner: Yes. Only you don't catch God poncing about in his underpants.
Scripps: Oh Pos, and your spaniel heart! It'll pass.
Posner: I know, it's a phase. What if I don't want it to pass? I wouldn't mind. But the pain, the pain!
Scripps: Mr. Hector would say it's the only education worth having.
Posner: Yes. I only wish we got marks for it.
Irwin: Has a boy ever made you unhappy?
Hector: They used to do. See it as an inoculation, rather. Briefly painful, but providing you with immunity for however long it takes. Given the occasional booster--another face, another reminder of the pain--it can last you...half a lifetime.
Plus, ang bahagi ng lyrics ng "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" na inawit ni Posner sa pelikula:
I'm wild again, beguiled again
A simpering, whimpering child again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
Couldn't sleep and wouldn't sleep
When love came and told me, I shouldn't sleep
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
Lost my heart, but what of it
He is cold I agree
He can laugh, but I love it
Although the laugh's on me
I'll sing to him, each spring to him
And worship the trousers that cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
