I've just been at the hospital for another appointment. I have previously mentioned two new recent tumours (side of head, left hip); I discovered another a couple of days ago, just south of my left buttock. The registrar thinks the very bad neck pain (and now my left arm is very weak) is probably due to a nerve trapped by another tumour at the top

Oh no - *fvck* cancer, fvck this horrid thing. No wonder you've been uncomfortable :( Didn't realise your neck pain was quite so nasty. I'll keep everything crossed they can do something for that for you very soon. Seems ridiculous they don't know what sort of stent went in.

well presumably they know in gastroenterology, who fitted it - the report just mentions the brand, and that meant nothing to the oncology registrar, so he is finding out. It probably is ferrous.

I'm not sure about Sunday - one possibility is meeting my old friends in the pub that afternoon, if I feel up to it. No idea of the chances of that. If I don't make it out, or if you mean the evening, then it would of course be lovely to see you.

Monday evening Meg and Stevem are coming around to watch a WWE event - you're obviously welcome too, but it does mean three hours of wrestling!

I now have an MRI appointment for next Thursday - non-magnetic metal, apparently. I think 90% of the time people get in an MRI in House (I have been watching that a lot lately) they immediately develop drastic new symptoms!

Oh this is dreadful to hear Martin. Selfishness overcoming the general "he probably has better uses for his time" is causing me to ask if I could come over to the WWE on Monday - obviously your time is more than ever yours to manage so if you'd rather not that's perfectly fine. I hope I see you soon, man, and best wishes for whatever that's worth.

So am I! I've been absolutely delighted and surprised by the amount of concern, affection and love I've felt from friends, and even work colleagues - I find it hard to believe how much I clearly mean to lots of people. I love every one of these wonderful friends, and I can't say how grateful I am for the emotional and practical support.
