Ok, so I've just read some fic in which Sherlock sabotages John's dates, and John is upset not because he was looking for a relationship but because he wanted to get laid, which leads me to the question 'do British people not do one night stands?' And really, hooking up online is very easy if all you want is sex. It's basically building fic on a faulty premise. Personally I think stringing someone along on a bunch of dates just to get laid is way worse than finding someone else who just wants to fuck and then fuck.
