Title: The Year of the Cat - Lion Dance 4/5
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Cracktasticness, fluff, some humor.
Pairings: Prowl & Jazz friendship.
Characters: Prowl, Jazz, A cassettebot and a cassetticon.
Prompt: For the February Challenge of the ProwlxJazz community - Prompt: Mandarin Oranges.
Notes: Since the tiger is in rough terms an oversized cat... the series is partly a pun on the "year of the tiger" and Al Stewart's hit. There's a different 'cat' featured in each drable. These aren't my best but eeeh... it's what the challenge gave me that wouldn't take a long time to get done. XP This piece is G1

Prowl always thought he had figured out some behavioral patterns on the majority of his fellow Autobots, he knew what to expect of each one of them. He knew that he could expect the unexpected from Jazz, a smart aft retort from Sideswipe, a mutter and glare from Sunstreaker or a complaint from Tracks should he dare to give him a task that entailed the possibility of messing his finish or denting his plating.

He knew he could expect Bluestreak to talk his audios off while he helped with the inventory duties, or for Wheeljack to blow something up, whether himself, something inside his lab or a Decepticon every week without miss. Prowl knew he could count on Spike to make questions that would have Bumblebee scrambling for an answer that usually led the yellow mini bot to seek the assistance of someone else that could explain the particular issue at hand, usually Ratchet, Jazz or Prowl himself were tasked with the explanations.

What he did not know, was that the ever reliable, competent, quiet but deadly Steeljaw was also capable of pulling dancing moves that rivaled even Jazz's graceful and fluid movements upon the dance floor. Why was Steeljaw dancing? He had no idea and decided he didn't want to find out.

"Y'know," Jazz drawled, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. "In some places the 'lion dance' is said ta scare away evil spirits."

Prowl looked at Jazz, smiling at the knowing glance he knew the saboteur was addressing at him. "Ravage?"

Jazz grinned. "Probably too weirded out ta want to sneak back in fer a while."

"Ah, it would appear our own lion's dance is certainly very effective." Prowl nodded once and leaned better against the wall, watching Steeljaw dance around, wondering if the cassettebot knew about Ravage inside the ventilation ducts before he began to dance.

Title: The Year of the Cat - Red 5/5
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Cracktasticness, fluff, some humor.
Pairings: Prowl & Jazz Friendship
Characters: Prowl, Jazz and striped kitty.
Prompt: For the February Challenge of the ProwlxJazz community - Prompt: Color Red.
Notes: Since the tiger is in rough terms an oversized cat... the series is partly a pun on the "year of the tiger" and Al Stewart's hit. There's a different 'cat' featured in each drable. Jazz couldn't say he fully understood the appeal these constructs had for humans, he supposed they just enjoyed the feeling of the soft and fuzzy material against their skin. They were kind of fun to look at and he certainly liked brushing his fingers along the soft material of the rather large, for human standards, plush toy he was holding. Okay, so maybe he understood the appeal after all.

"Ain't they supposed ta be orange?" He asked with a little smile. He was thrilled to say the least, Prowl wasn't a mech that regularly went out of his way to give out demonstrations of affection, or little details such as this, even if he didn't understand why the tiger plush he had been given was a bright and vibrant red.

"They should, but apparently these dolls do not stick to nature's conventions about their colors." Prowl said as he held a smaller replica of the toy he had just given Jazz on his palm.

"So, what I owe the gift to?" Jazz couldn't help but brush a finger over a rounded and fuzzy ear.

"I was assisting an elderly woman on my way to the city, her vehicle broke down and I carted her to her destination while Hoist towed the vehicle to the repair shop. Apparently she was going to visit her family for this festivity... Chinese new year." Prowl explained and held up the smaller tiger plush. "She said this is the year of the tiger, and got a few tiger plush dolls to gift to her grandchildren. It would appear the color red symbolizes prosperity, joy, truth and virtue. She gave me these as thank you for my help, and said I should give one to a loved one." Prowl smiled at this, giving Jazz a side glance.

Jazz grinned and poked the nose of the stuffed tiger. "You tryin' ta tell me somethin' there, Prowler?"

"Yes, in fact, I am. But you'll have to figure it out on your on." Prowl turned to head for his quarters grinning at Jazz. "And my name is Prowl, not Prowler."

Jazz watched him go with a bright and cheerful smile and looked at the little tag that had been attached to the plush doll. 'Live long and prosper.' Jazz laughed. "Really now? I thought yer name was Spock."
