"He went down the hall towards the rec room. I want all weapons on stun only an' try not to fire unless it's absolutely necessary." Jazz barked as he ran down the halls with a team of mechs after him. "Anyone shoots him an' they'll have to answer ta me. Is that clear? An' I'm especially lookin' at you, Blaster."
"But Jazz--"
"No buts. He ain't gonna hurt yer 'bot." Jazz pointedly decided to leave out the fact he was more hoping than he was certain of his own words. "Everyone ready, we're closin' in!"
The mechs all blocked the doors of the rec room, all prepared to take on whatever came at them. Jazz pressed his back against the wall, peeking into the room to find a sight he hadn't thought possible at any other time, but that was now a reality. A reality he knew Prowl would find embarrassing once the were mech came to his senses.
"Are you sure he won't hurt him?" Blaster asked dubiously as he, too, peeked into the room to take on the sight of Prowl chasing after Ravage who was having the hardest time ducking the swipes of a much bigger, much faster and frenzied were mech. The sight would have been incredibly amusing as Prowl was giving Ravage the chase of his life, growling and howling with his sharp fangs and equally sharp claws bared.
Yes, it would have been an amusing sight had it not been because Prowl, in his current state, made no distinction between friend and foe and was chasing not just Ravage, but also Steeljaw.
"Prowl!" Jazz called as he ducked into the room, barely managing to dodge Steeljaw as the Autobot cassette ran away from his would be hunter. "Prowl, babe, stop this! C'mon Prowl. It's me, Jazz!"
Prowl seemed to be too involved in his chase to pay attention to Jazz. However, his calls did manage to distract Ravage who tripped on the furniture and tumbled against a table. Mere seconds later Prowl was already pinning the Cassetticon to the ground, with a clawed hand drawn up and seemingly ready to shred the invader to pieces with a feral howl.
"Prowl, stop it!" Jazz rushed to his bondmate's side, holding a hand up for the other mechs to hold their fire, approaching the were mech cautiously. "Prowl, love," Jazz spoke softly in soothing tones as Prowl did look up to Jazz snarling at the possible threat.
"It's all cool, I ain't takin' your prey off ya." Jazz moved a little closer in small and careful steps. "It's me, Jazz."
Prowl's ears flattened against his helm as Jazz approached, but a nudging presence in his spark seemed to calm him down fractionally.
"That's right, love. It's me." Jazz smiled, his own sharp fangs glinting in the lights of the rec room. "Ya remember me, right?" Jazz reached a hand carefully, always keeping his movements slow and allowing Prowl to see what he was going to do. Prowl seemed to relax as Jazz stroked his bonded's cheek soothingly, the feral look on Prowl's optics subsided and the mech relaxed although he refused to let go of Ravage.
"Jazz?" Prowl asked drowsily, as if he was just waking from a long recharge.
"Yeah." Jazz smiled at Prowl and gestured with his hand for Blaster to get Steeljaw while Ironhide, Red Alert and Inferno dealt with the exhausted and worse for wear Ravage.
"You're okay?" Jazz asked as he helped Prowl to his feet.
Prowl rubbed his head, feeling tired and dazzled still. "I think so. It's strange, I was tracking down Ravage and when he hissed at me and started running I just felt this overwhelming need to go after him."
Jazz smiled ruefully, "Well, there goes the idea of the black cat costume. Ya gonna be chasin' yourself if you see yer reflection."
Prowl shot him a pointed and very annoyed look. "Please tell me that's a joke."
Jazz's grin merely widened. "Maybe."
