"There's no one who can look after him?" Magnus asked, keeping his optics locked on the diminutive shape held in Hook's arms.

"Not within the base, no." The medic shifted the diminutive sparkling to rest better against his chest plates. "It is highly unusual, but his creators assured they wouldn't take more than two cycles. This was about six cycles ago."

Mixmaster stepped forward, baring an apologetic look. "We cannot take care of him for much longer, our services are required in Uraya."

"We cannot look after him while we're working, and even if we did have someone to take care of him during that time, we don't know if his creators will come to look for him soon." Scrapper crossed his arms, casting a worried glance at the tiny sparkling held against Hook's chest plates.

"What about Ironhide and Ratchet?" Magnus asked, side glancing to his younger brother, Optronix, who had remained silent through the ordeal.

Scavenger shook his head. "We asked them, but they have their hands full with the sparklings they're looking after."

Magnus turned to face Optronix, his optics stopped just for brief kliks over the two young mechs flanking his brother's seat, Prowl at his right, and Jazz at his left. Optronix rubbed his chin in thought, then looked back at Magnus. "What do you recommend?"

Magnus cycled air heavily and side glanced to the recharging sparkling. "Probably find a pair of mates willing to take care of him for a few cycles."

Optronix's optics darted immediately to his left, watching Jazz fight back a little smile.

"We can do it if ya need us to." the visored mech replied softly. Optronix turned to look at Prowl, the mech bore no little smile, but was quick to nod his agreement to his mate's proposal. "It's not advised to take the sparkling to Uraya without someone to look after him."

"Besides, he's too young ta be taken outta Iacon jus' like that, especially without his creators. And it'll be only for a couple of cycles."

Optronix nodded to his brother and Magnus retrieved the sparkling, thanking Hook and his associates as they retired. Magnus took the recharging infant and offered the small bundle of parts to Jazz. "I'll make arrangements to have supplies taken to your living unit. I'm afraid your return to Praxus will have to be delayed, obviously."

"We understand. It's not a problem." Prowl cast a quick glance at the sleeping sparkling on his mate's arms. "Do we know his designation?"

Magnus nodded. "Red Alert."
