Title: Every Little Thing.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Fluff attack!
Pairings: Implied Hound x Mirage, Inferno x Red Alert, Prowl x Jazz.

Summary: Red Alert is a very observant mech, but there's things even he doesn't feel very comfortable watching.
Notes: Nothing naughty happening here. Sparkling alert! No, the sparkling doesn't have a name. It's pretty non-sense little drabble, and just for the sake of trying to get me back into the Red Alert mood.

Red Alert was a very observant mech. He had to be, given his role within the Autobot ranks. But even he found certain things about the private lives of his fellow Autobots that made him a little uncomfortable. Due to recent and unexpected developments in the Ark, security devices and cameras were installed in Hound's and Mirage's quarters to keep vigil at all times on the expecting Mirage.

It had come as a surprise for everyone at the Ark, when a routine check with Ratchet revealed Mirage was hosting a tiny spark within his own chamber. Under normal circumstances, the spark would have been removed and kept within a special chamber while a body was constructed; but these weren't normal conditions and such chamber was not available in the Ark. Mirage was then forced out of active duty to keep the baby spark secured in his chamber, and as far as possible from the dangers of battle.

That didn't mean Mirage was out of any danger, the spark needed sustenance and was drawing it from Mirage himself, who had to consume more energon regularly to keep up with his very hungry sparkling. The construction of the body was also going to take some time, as the Towers' mech refused to have his sparkling transferred to an adult body like the Dinobots. Accelerated growth was one thing, but the Ligier refused to let his child's sparkling hood be entirely lost to the war. Hound supported his mate's decision, and thus, Mirage was stuck in the Ark, under the strict, watchful optic of Red Alert.

Still, things like the very touching and intimate exchanges between Hound and Mirage, when they allowed themselves the time to bask on the knowledge they had created life, could make Red Alert feel like he was intruding in something he shouldn't. To watch Hound tap gently against Mirage's chest and speak little non-sense to his sparkling, made Red Alert idly wonder what would be like to be in a similar situation.

Sometimes Mirage would part his plating to give Hound access to his closed spark chamber, as close to the baby spark as they dared. And even in these times, Red Alert found himself wondering what that kind of exchange felt like. It was a completely different level of intimacy that had nothing to do with interfacing or overloads. A bonding experience in a completely different level.

Many curious mechs came to visit Mirage every now and then, and the security director could barely hold back some chuckles when Jazz kept dragging Prowl along when the saboteur visited his friend and Special Operations' team mate. Inferno made a joke once about how if Jazz could get his way, he'd convince Mirage to let him and Prowl become the sparkling's 'god parents'. Red Alert didn't know who was worse in terms of adopting and embracing human culture, if Bumblebee, Optimus Prime or Jazz.

"See anythin' interestin', Red?" Inferno grinned and wrapped his arms around the security director's shoulders.

"The usual." Red Alert gestured to the screen showing Mirage deeply in recharge, while Hound stroked his head, absently reading something.

Inferno remained quiet, watching Hound and Mirage for a moment. His hand trailed down by its own volition, and came to rest atop Red Alert's chest plates, stroking gently the place where he knew his lover's spark chamber to be. "Lucky mech," he muttered softly, holding Red Alert a little closer.

Red Alert nodded and rested his hand over Inferno's on his chest, well aware of what Inferno really meant.
