Steven has been diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme, or GBM for short. Another name for it is an Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade IV. The doctors have said to ignore the stats on the Internet because Steven is young and in good health. This can be found in the Rare Disease Handbook. Chemo and Radiation will start sometime after next week. The chemo will be oral, and Radiation will be 5x a day for 6 weeks. We'll assess the tumor after that point, and decide what actions need to be taken next. Hopefully, this will be all of the treatment he needs. Since this disease is incurable, he will always "have" brain cancer, but our hope is that he can beat it and keep his life. I need him here with me. The kids need him. Keep praying, praying, praying.
