I went and fixed
another old post that had been lying around with some html errors, even if this one was more readable than
the other one.
Yeah... title. Some things still do stay the same. I'm still missing my "one post every week" deadlines - this is technically my post for two weeks ago - and you should still read Shaenon K. Garrity. Of course
Narbonic has had it's run by now - twice, with the Director's Cut (as it was called, though it was actually Cartoonist's Comment) version. But it's all still there to read, and well worth reading it is. And then there's
all sorts of other stuff, including two currently running webcomics:
Skin Horse (with Jeffrey C. Wells, about dark-ops social services for non-human sapients) and
Monster of the Week (the cartoon X-files, one episode at a time). Of course, Monster of the Week is currently on hiatus and Skin Horse is produced by guest artists (until September 14) since Shaenon is busy working on
her masterpiece.*
This is where I'd try to explain exactly why I think Shaenon's work is so great, I guess, if I had more time and/or energy and/or writing skills... But if you trust my taste on any level: I think you're missing out if you don't at least take a look, and I think if you take a look you'll probably want to take another one. (Possibly depending on where you look... I guess there are things that work less well as an introduction. It could be worthwhile, some time, to look up some good entry points.)
Yay Shaenon!
* Possible masterpiece, I guess. I mean, the kid could turn out a horrible person... What!? It's possible...
Don't think so, though. It has pretty great parents.
