Staycation
I took Thursday and Friday as holidays / vacation time, and while I only accomplished some of the reading I'd hoped to do, I did indeed mark several things off my list. Blue Canoe refilled the freon on my air conditioning unit (I think it was Tuesday?), but as soon as the temperatures went up to around 100°F (38°C) again outside my apartment wouldn't cool below around 80°F (27°C) inside during the afternoons. Thankfully that is pretty much still within my comfort range, so I just took a fair number of afternoon naps. And the Matter of Britain enjoyed the steady stream of occasional visitors, obviously come to pay attention to the feline overlord (she's been much fussed over! ^_^ ).Wednesday I went to a very nice Independence Day party at the Howseman's, then met up with Kitty and Chainsaw after (as I've tended to do since they moved in). I also caught the Spiderman reboot Friday (slow start, but I liked it), Erynias Tribe Saturday night (loved it), Pepper Place Farmers Market with leliel and the new one on Saturday, and Acapulco for lunch with them and dhc10 on Sunday. A very nice week home! ^_^

I found this overview of changing views and theories fun and informative. She covers influences ranging from Nietzsche to Gimbutas. It did match some of my earlier opinions though, so there is some selection bias at work on my part. ;)
