Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store.
Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more."

Thursday
It's my first of two days of vacation, but I cannot log into Star Wars: The Old Republic. Seems they're having issues and have shut down the login servers. And I cannot even whine about this on Failbook; I keep getting "Something went wrong. We're working on getting it fixed as soon as we can" whenever I try to update Failbook using Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer. >.<

Something I was gonna post there
It's not "nature vs. nurture"; it's "nurture IS nature" (to a limited extent). The DNA in our chromosomes and mitochondria gives us our cellular blueprints, but our "epigenetics" are the chemical and other clues that tell, say, a liver cell to not act like a kidney cell. And in some cases changes to these chemical cues from things like stress, diet, or other environmental factors can be inherited by an organism's offspring. It's one of the reasons that naturally occurring human clones, er, twins and triplets, aren't identical despite pretty much having the same DNA.

Life
But in general I can't complain. I'm warm, rested, and sitting here with the Matter of Britain sleeping next to me. Church wants me to run sound on Christmas Eve. I caught lunch at Giuseppes yesterday with Senlikin and dhc10, and I had a very nice time at Ferret Rock last night with them and leliel (we three guys played Battlestar Galactica) while Mrs. C. worked on other things).
