So, it turns out I'll be in San Fransisco this summer, from 14th to the 19th of July. Anyone of my north-cal friends want to hang out? Anything fun happening?

The only evening I have booked so far is the 16th (Eddie Izzard).

I just signed up for this thing: www.spartanrace.com A 5K race with obstacles ranging from rope climbs to swimming to God-knows-what. It will be epic.

Yesterday the lovely my_fair_kadie took me out to taste a Quebec traditional meal: Poutine. Which is fries with gravy and cheese curds. It sounds a bit disgusting, right? Well it was awesome!

3ff3ct3r gave me 5 tickets for climbing for my birthday (last July) and today I finally got my ass down to the climbing center to try it. And it was awesome. Sure, I was scared to death since I'm deathy frightened of heights, but it was incredibly fun, challenging and just plain awesome.

So far, Egypt has been a mixed experience. As it turns out, Hurghada survives mostly on tourism, which means that downtown and the tourist area where our hotel is located is filled with salespeople yelling at us and taxies honking just in case we didn't notice they were there. I'm going to Egypt the day after tomorrow. 45hasle found us reasonably cheap tickets and bullied me into actually going someplace on a whim rather than just complaining that I'm always too busy to do just that. I met my professor today and not only did he like my chapter, the entire meeting was actually fun. I mean, he's a great guy and it's always interesting and enjoyable to meet him, but for the first time in 1,5 years, I got excited about my thesis!
