Rain, Rain, Go Away
We are experiencing some flooding here in Georgia. This is our back yard. I took this picture standing on our deck. See that row of trees, in the middle of the brown lake? Well, typically, they are between our house and the drainage ditch creek, instead of in the middle of it. The water is about 30 feet from our house, instead of the 100 feet which usually comes between the water and our house. It's a little scary. School was closed today, and will also be closed tomorrow.
I ended up taking all the kids with me to the grocery store, where the cashier cheerfully said, "Well, aren't you glad for a day off today?", to which I replied (nicely), "Oh yes! I was hoping I could take all three kids with me to the grocery store! It's much more fun that way!" Please. This was not a day off. :)
