Experimenting with a X-mas icon. Not sure if I like it yet... but I think it's alright actually :)

I also watched Easy Rider tonight. Interesting movie about 60s, counterculture back then, and yeah, I guess it does say something about America. Although I think it's probably easier to understand if a/ you're an American yourself and b/ watch the movie a couple of times. There also was a documentary on the making of the movie on the dvd, which was very interesting I thought, how they did the 'casting' in some of the scenes was amazing, especially the stereotypical rednecks, these were just people they picked off the street! That scene in the little cafeteria, the people were not really acting, they were more or less being themselves! That's amazing.

Also interesting was the drugged-up-ness (is that a word?) of it all, sometimes people were just totally wacked out, not just in the movie but also while making it. All that stuff was pretty pointless and nonsensical in my opinion, but perhaps that is just exactly the point that was being made- that's the whole thing in the late 60s I guess, disillusionment of this 'dream' and people waking up in a way to see how too many drugs had turned their creativity and freedom into pointless drivel and drug addiction (thereby achieving exactly the opposite of what they were trying to find).

Jack Nicholson also made an appearance, and in terms of acting he's probably the one that's acting most- the other guys are acting as well, but their characters aren't miles removed from who they really are/were. Yeah, definitely interesting.
