Summer Day's Drive
I don't get out of the office too often, and then it is usually to nearby locations. Today, however, was different! :)
I had a 3pm meeting with the NYSDEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) at their Region 3 office in New Paltz, NY. It is about an hour and a half drive on open highways.
Today was one of the nicest days of the summer, and I really enjoyed cruising up the Interstates--684 north to 87 west to 87 north. The medians and the shoulders had colorful purple loose strife and Queen Anne's lace as well as some goldenrod. The grasses and trees had that dark rich green color of an August afternoon on a clear day. The sky was a bright blue with little puffs of cloud here and there. There is nothing quite like a cruising the highway on a brilliant summer day! :)
(And in addition the meeting went well, and then I got to drive home! :)
