streaming

We watched Casablanca tonight, our first streamed video. It can't be beat for spontaneity, but I think I prefer using a DVD because there's less hooking up to do, and it's easier to stop & start the movie. Also, even with the volume turned up to maximum on both the TV and the computer, it still was too quiet. Does anyone else who does this have a problem with volume?

Anyway, Casablanca was wonderful, as always. I love the way Curtiz sets up the atmosphere in Casablanca with all the little vignettes at the beginning. The magnetism between Rick and Ilsa is wrenching. Claude Rains is a wonderful villian. Gush, gush, gush.

It is perhaps more powerful each time you watch it, unlike that sled movie, which is always proclaimed as the Best Movie Ever. And Orson Welles' old man makeup is terrible.
