I tried one last place this morning, a local chain called "Eyetique." As their name implies, they are a boutique for the eyes, and the experience was much different than shopping in LensCrafters or Pearle Vision. The boutique was filled with frames by designers I'd heard of (Chanel, Vera Wang) and crazy foreign designers I'd never heard of (Theo, from Belgium). The friendly salesman had many suggestions and I tried a bunch of frames on for fun and for reals. My favorite were the crazily shaped designer frames from Belgium (including ones that had metal "eyebrows" added on), but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures in those.

As before, the frames I thought looked best on me in the store look the worst in the pictures (8, 9), and vice versa. I think the problem is when I don't have my contacts with me, I have to stare at my reflection from about 5 inches above the mirror, preventing me from getting the "whole picture." Anyway, same drill as before. Click on the thumbnails to get to larger pictures.
