the first mammal to make plans

My desire for this skirt/blouse set from Excentrique is almost overwhelming. I'm a sucker for completely shapeless things >n<;; It's on sale right now, so we'll see what happens.

I'm looking forward to the beach again this 4th of July! On June 18th, I went to Long Beach Island with Kelsey, Koda, Jean, and Zoh and it was amazing *o* Gorgeous weather, waves, sand castles, sprawling out with books under the umbrella, delicious food, and good friends made it the perfect day. Jean, Kelsey, and I held hands while we dove under the waves~~~ yes. ♥ I took a few quick pictures:

EL CASTILLO MAGNIFICO

Kelsey, Jean, and Koda each crafted their own unique section of the wall. See if you can tell who did which area...

I created the Sarlacc Pit at the back of the fortress. Notice the chute leading to its mouth, and the Sam Flynn figurine sliding towards his slow, agonizing death. In a gesture of defiance, ruthless figurine dictator Shia Labeouf raises his tiny knife in the air.

After spending almost the entire day at the beach, we ate dinner. I normally stick to "beach foods" at the beach, but I saw someone else eating chinese and fell prey to food envy. It turned out to be some of the most delicious general tso's chicken I've ever had, so yay for me ♥

In other food news, I was inspired by bakaxtenshi to try making thai iced tea! I bought loose leaf thai tea and thai tea in bags and they both turned out well ♥ I'm drinking some right now while I write this entry!

Otakon is less than a month away, but this year I'm going to plan my outfits and time more carefully >:] Unless the program schedule forces me to change my mind, I'm wearing natural kei on Thursday, lolita on Friday, and gothic on Saturday, and natural kei again on Sunday. I reserved two rooms at the Holiday Inn and I've already filled all ten spots with awesome people. There are so many of us that I think we should just walk around the con all weekend with a boombox like the Crazy 88s. haha Regarding activities, I'm planning to spend more time in panels and screenings this year, along with the usual slew of lolita activities like the fashion show. A couple of us are planning a special surprise for Friday, so keep an eye on my lj/facebook for the announcement within the next few days! I'm also excited about returning to the Explorer's Lounge for lunch and our usual Indian place (so much good food to look forward to). XD
EDIT: They just announced that Baby, the Stars Shine Bright and Alice and the Pirates are having a fashion show at the con!! ♥ Now I definitely need to bring another lolita outfit...

To conclude this entry on a bit of a sour note, I discovered that the raise for my new job wasn't as high as I hoped. I settled right in with my new responsibilities and new coworkers, so it's a shame the money didn't come through. I need to figure out what to do for a career. And find an adorable place to live. ::makes checklist::
