Rain yesterday, and very heavy winds and cold today.
Went to see the new Harry Potter (w/out Harry Potter) film. Definitely two thumbs up. A lot of fun, and it was neat to see the American side of the wizarding world.
Went to LosCon for a little while yesterday to visit with Fred Patten. When I read about the 'aging of SF fandom" they're not kidding. Pretty much everyone there looked to be my age or older. I guess all the younger fans go to media-specific or specialty cons.
Many years ago I had some pecan bread and really liked it. But there apparently isn't any place that sells it in LA.
Someone managed to catch a gopher this morning and brought it inside (still very much alive.) Not sure who the guilty party was, since both Sugar and Gandalf were chasing it around the livingroom. I was able to catch it and throw it back outside. Later on the partially eaten carcass was in the middle of the back yard.
A month and a half before FC and still no dealer's room map, list of Artist's Alley lottery winners, or GOH, or charity listed. And when BLFC said dealers would hear about whether they got a table 'by November 30th" they weren't joking. I guess they mean you won't find out until 11:59 PM on November 30th. Of course, that didn't stop them from opening up the hotel block for sale months ago. So you have a choice of getting a room without knowing whether you have a table, or waiting until 11:59 PM on November 30th and praying the hotel isn't sold out yet. It's always nice to have a choice!
