Cheerios in the toilet...?

Mike - I am glad to hear that you had a good birthday. Any pictures to share??? :0)

So, I am officially back at school - bummer. lol Well, it is not that bad, just something to get used to again. I left yesterday morning around 5:30, and as soon as I got to school the chaos began. Chaos and school just seem to always go hand-in-hand together. Probably for the best though. In a crazy way, I kind of like to keep myself super busy and always doing something. I am a team leader for Destination Iowa State, so I had my last training yesterday, and today I get my handful of new students and the events begin. It will be a crazy and fun couple of next days!

Before I left my mom wrote me a note, which just about made me cry. It was written so well that I wanted to share a bit of it...

"...this is such a busy, yet exciting time of your life! New experiences blend with cherished memories and will enrich your life and make it wonderful and exciting. Know that even though hundreds of miles separate us, our thoughts and love are always with you! Just close your eyes and breathe in all that is important to you , and this year will fly by with success for you!..."

I was supposed to head out Tuesday afternoon, but things just did not turn out that way. Everytime I got my stuff ready to leave, or talked to my dad/sister/mom, I teared up and just couldn't do it. So I ended up staying the night and leaving VERY early Wednesday. I am SO glad I decided to stay too. I got to hang out with Manny for a bit, actually say bye to my Dad (cause he was at work all day), spend time with Pam and my mom, and I even got to see Britt. My family went out to Olive Garden for dinner, and guess who we end up getting sat next too?!? Brittany, Tim, and their families. They were celebrating their engagement!!! So all-in-all, I am very glad that I stayed that extra day.

It just feels so weird being at school right now. Even though I am here for the majority of the year, I still don't consider it "home". I guess it doesn't really matter where I am to consider it home, but rather who is there with me. I can certainly say that I need my family and friends with me to feel "at home".

Well I still have some unpacking to do, and need to get ready for tonight.

P.S. I went to the bathroom this morning and there were cheerios in the toilet. I know my roommate woke up late, and was rushing to get to work - possibly eating and going to the bathroom at the same time...just wondering if I should be concerned...??? lol just kidding (not about the story - that's true but about being concerned) lol oh boy...
