A new car?!?!?!
So today on our way out the door to go to my little cousin's birthday party we notice an old van in our driveway blocking our cars. My mom starts asking my dad if he knows who van it is and my dad just starts to smile. All he said was, "It's ours now". My mom and I didn't believe him and I guess my sister was in on the surprise. Turns out the van really is ours. My dad bought an '83 conversion van from the parents of someone he knows. It only cost him $1400 for a car with only 40,000 miles on it and the parents were the original owners. What a deal!! It is HUGE and we are just going to use it for family vacations. It is really nice inside and we don't really have to do much to fix it up. It is going to be so nice to actually have room now when we take trips and not have to cram everything into the car. It is especially a nice surprise for me to have so much more room to take stuff down to school. I was starting to get a little worried about how I was going to do all of this. I love it when my dad does surprises like this, where only he knows, or if lucky, one of us. That is how we ended up getting Shady, an ice skating rink, a keyboard, a motorized scooter, a ketcar, and all among a bunch of other little surprises. I love this about my dad...you never know what he has up his sleeve, and he gets a kick out of surprising us. lol Overall, the party was really nice. We were outside the whole time and are so lucky that it did not start to rain. It started to get really chilly outside though so we ended up leaving around 8:00. Now I am just waiting for Brittany and Molly to come over and we are going to have a sleepover and just catch up on some things. It will be nice to do that with some old friends before we head off to school again. Ahhh...which by the way, the next two days especially are going to be insane getting everything ready and done before I depart. Gosh, I can't believe the time has already come. Well, I must go now!
