Went golfing with Mr. Dan today and it was very fun. In fact spent a lot of time with Mr. Dan today and even though he has been insulting me (what he calls friendly banter) all day *evil glare* it has been very nice.
Ruty, I have excellent news for you. If you go here: http://www.watsonfellowship.org/site/fellows/05_06.html you will notice that there is a project award going to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. So perhaps you'll make it to the Stans afterall..in fact there are many projects going to some kind of Stan.
You'll also notice that all of the projects have something to do with feminism, music (mostly lutes), or clowns. So we really need to try to incoperate something like that into project ideas. I'm thinking "the politics of kazoo playing female shamans, the meaning of their clown makeup, and how their traditions are incorpertated into usage of modern technology" Travelling to: Siberia (Russia), Madagascar and Kerry's choch. I think you might win with that one...
Today was an internship meeting - how exciting that I actually got funding to do this project over the summer. I went to talk to Professor Pribilski (spelling?) about it and he gave me some wonderfully good ideas. Perhaps the best is looking at age groups and taking into account what life was like during communism and after. That really affected nutritional habits and i have a feeling that will show up a lot with different age groups. I hope this project works out somewhat like I would like it to. I hope this summer is as wonderful as I'm expecting it to be. I hope, I hope, I hope, I want, I want, I want, me, me, me....Hook would be proud.
