And it puts me in mind of this: in my own frustration with the variety of Christians who politicize religion and who demonize or otherwise marginalize those who do not believe as they do ( and which apparently includes me, since I am not conservative ) am I doing the same to them?
Where do we draw the line between discerning and judging? There are those who point out that sexual activity outside of a sanctioned marriage is a sin-- and imply in many ways that it is a much worse sort of sin than any other. So, how am I different when I point out that hypocrisy and backbiting are sins that I find even more appalling? When I hear of some conservative pundit making a statement that causes me to think of him as a Pharisee, does that make ME a hypocrite?
Your posts are always ones that make me think very furiously-- and even though sometimes uncomfortably so, still, in a good way.
