Just getting in under the bell

Today's been a long day, and I almost didn't realize it was about to be midnight, and hence I needed to do an entry. For background, I'm not normally an Apple person; I got this iPhone a few months ago and we just haven't clicked as a team yet ( Read more... )

You want to keep the iPhone, trust me :) Apple will definitely replace the iPhone for you without a problem. Also, there's a bunch of great stuff coming out in firmware updates that you won't want to miss out on. That said, let me see if I can help with your issues:

I do not like the following things:
-lack of flash (particularly annoying last night when I wanted to see the election maps)

-- Few phones offer Flash support, and it's pretty lackluster on those that do. All in all, I think the alternatives to Flash (third-party apps, AJAXified sites, etc) will prove to be the better answer.

-lack of Multimedia messaging (I thought it would be a lot easier to send pictures via email and that kind of thing)

-- I agree, MMS would be nice. There have been murmurs that Apple is working on this, and I believe it. There are third-party MMS apps in the App Store, I think. There are also tons of apps specifically for quickly posting pictures to third-party services.

-lack of the LJ app letting you upload pictures to Scrapbook as you take them (one of the things I liked best about LJ Mobile - I really really miss my LJ Mobile that way)

-- Talk to the person making the LJ app :)

-how difficult it is to get photos off the phone - it's a struggle each time I want to transfer them to my computer (maybe there's a better way than plugging it in, using "My Computer", locating the device and dragging the photos I want into a folder?)

-- There are several apps that let you easily transfer files (photos included) between the iPhone and computer using WiFi. I'll dig up some links and send them your way.

-before it came out, I anticipated that my work email would be switched to Exchange and iPhone would have push for Exchange, but neither of those things have happened yet

-- It does support push through Exchange. We just need to switch over :)

Feel free to IM me if you need any more help with it!
