So, my dad wants me to go on Byetta. It isn't insulin, it's like a slow acting drug that slows down the rate you digest food so your blood sugars don't spike after you eat. Let me explain it this way; Everyone's BS spikes after they eat because stuff is going into your system and your body needs to break it down, diabetics and non-diabetics could eat the same thing but the diabetic's blood sugar would soar much higher than the non-diabetic's cause they have much less insulin to break down the food. This is where the Byetta comes in. It's that extra little punch that slows down the digestion process so the small amount of insulin we have can catch up to the food. It keeps our blood sugars lower and it makes us less hungry and it helps us loose weight, it also works along side my regular medicene. I'm gonna go on it after my Katrina trip.
