I saw A Man Escaped yesterday for the second time. You're locked in the cell with the main character, a French freedom fighter imprisoned by the nazis. His hope for freedom is contagious and even if he doesn't make it out of the prison alive he's done more than anyone could ever predict. A young kid that looks a lot like Matt Damon becomes his bunkmate and the main character must decide whether to kill the boy or take him along. Definitely my favorite Robert Bresson film so far. I've seen Pickpocket, Lancelot of the Lake, Le Argent and A Man Escaped. Bresson uses silence better than any director. When it's not silent, you're hearing footsteps or locks clicking or wonderful Mozart music.
I only go to school Tuesday and Thursday now, one class only. But I'll miss tomorrow.
