With more luck than reason, as we say on Mars, I won
a round of Literary Botticelli over at
ironed_orchid's, and thus have the undeserved honour of hosting a new round.
The object of the game is to guess the identity of an entity selected by the person who is It. In this version, that person must be associated with reading and writing - an author, a fictional character, a famous editor, a columnist, etc. It starts the game by assuming the persona of the entity they are playing as and announcing, "My name begins with ___." (Supplying the appropriate initial of the name.)
The other players then ask It questions, having specific answers in mind, which It must then supply.
If you want to play, please read the
rules and directions, which
kinetikatrue has provided, and take special note of the LJ specific rules:
- No player may ask consecutive questions; wait until someone else has a turn.
- Do not post a question until the last question has been answered. If a second question is posted while another is still pending, only the first question will be answered.
- Follow-up questions should be asked in the same thread as the original question by which they were gained. Otherwise, all questions should exist as separate threads.
In the true spirit of Calvinball, I am introducing a new rule by which a question that would contradict established information about the entity in question shall be considered forfeit.
Information about my identity will appear at the bottom of this post as it is uncovered.
Feel free to send interested people over to this post.
I am a fictional dead British male whose name begins with D and who was alive through parts of the 20th century. The 20th century novel by a British author in which I first appeared has been adapted to film or TV. It is no Science Fiction, alternative history or parallel universe novel nor associated with a character named James Bond.
I did not live in London nor serve in the Armed Forces during WW1 or WW2. Although from humble origins, I did over the course of my life at times become a somewhat influential figure and have in fact more than once been offered a certain high position in government, which however I always refused.
My name is not Fyodor Dostoevsky, Rick Deckard, Arthur Dent or John Doolittle.
As
ironed_orchid correctly guessed, I am Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Congratulations and good luck with the next round!
