ive decided that i am going to apply to the university of chicago, despite the fact that before yesterday i knew absolutely nothing about it.
you see, the other day the nice people from the admissions office at u chicago sent me a friendly little letter congratulating me on being a semifinalist for the national merit scholarship. semifinalist?! since when was i a semifinalist?? ha ... but whatever, if they want to believe that, then its perfectly fine with me. thanks to them, i can now add "national merit semifinalist" to my resume.. excellent. if thats not validity, then well, i dont know what is.
