I'm at work right now, during a slow spell.
My boss always tells descriptive stories,
always so detailed and intricate in method.
He likes to talk alot, but mainly prefers to
argue. We never get offended, or never really
get into any sensitive subject, and we always
have reasonable facts that we both take into
account when we "listen" to each other. The
thing that makes it arguing to me is that it
never seems like he listens. I've had plenty
a time when me and Erik "discussed things,
and I call them discussions because we both
had a different point of view at the
beginning, but at the end, it seemed like we
both came to a single conclusion and that
there was nothing left really to call a
difference of opinion.
So I stopped listening to him now.
He talks all the time, and I realized he
never really listens. With everyone I meet
I always like to listen, I like to hear about
what they do, what they think, because I know
that there is problably someone in their life
that they listen to, that they give space to
ask and challenge and correct, but I'm pretty
sure he doesn't. And all he does is talk about
what he was watching on tv, or this argument he
had with some teacher, or the things he gets
miffed at, or the things that him and his wife
dont agree on. And how he always has the upper
hand in a conversation, that he always has the
better point.
this song goes out to doug. uhhh. yeahhh.. remix.
and it really doesnt matter if im wrong
im right where i belong
im right where i belong
silly people standing there that disagree and never win
and wonder why they dont get in my door
