It was a dark and stormy morning! I've been up, at this juncture, since just before 4am, thanks to a thunder-heavy storm that rolled in and seemed to just park right over my house. And when that finally started to die down, the skies opened up and it just poured, which is kind of just as deafening when your master bedroom is in the attic. ;) I love a good rainstorm like that, but it's a little harder to appreciate it on a weekday when I can't roll over and make up the lost sleep when it's done. :P

I've been meaning to update for so long, but I got it into my head that I should update from home instead of work, since I have a tendency to, at work, write over the course of the day (due to, you know, actually working), which can lead to the long and rambley. But work itself has been just insane and stressful lately. I've got two big projects I'm actively working on, in addition to the little daily stuff. One is all coding, and the other is all design, and I don't know.. the shifting gears between the two has been really difficult this time around, for some reason. So when I get home, I'm knackered, and sitting down to write generally turns into sitting down to zone out. :P So we're back to writing this at work, which means: bullets. FOR YOUR HEALTH!

++ I saw Julian Casablancas on Thursday! It was a fantastic show all around, but I was glad that I sprung for the sightline seating at the club, because, wow, was that crowd ever wild. Did you know that people still moshed? Because I didn't. But they do. And to "I Wish It Was Christmas Today," no less (among other songs). Also scored tickets for Phoenix in August, and my dad said he was going to try and pick up She & Him tickets as well.

++ Saturday, I saw Clash of the Titans, and I kind of loved it. I mostly just went to that because it had the most convenient showtime, but it was so much fun. Completely ridiculous, but awesome. Mads Mikkelson stole the show, but Sam and Gemma were lovely as well. I wish I had had a better eye on Olympus though… I totally missed both Izabella Miko & Danny Huston. Anyways, it wasn't thought-provoking, brilliant, epic awesomeness or anything, but what can I say? It was perfect for a Saturday matinee. :D (Except for Alexa Davalos, who was the worst.) Then it was sushi for lunche and a leisurely stroll home. Such a nice day!

++ Hipstamatic! If you have an iPhone, this is a great app.. I've been thinking about getting a Holga for awhile, so having something that gets that "toy camera" effect right on my phone has been really fun. For the curious, you can see the results of my experiments here. I think this is my favorite so far though.

++ In TV-land, Treme was the best… everything I'd hoped for and more. The Pacific was, once again stunning (and Anna Torv!!!). I'm crushing a little on James Badge Dale (Leckie) at this point, and hope Rubicon will be good so as to continue enjoying him in the future. And I am endlessly pleased that Rick Grimes was finally cast for The Walking Dead, and will not be played by any of those I previously feared, but rather Jon Bernthal. His sign-card declarations in Love, Actually notwithstanding, he's pretty well a blank slate, which, short of getting to cast the thing myself, is kind of the best case scenario. Also, bring-your-girlfriend-to-work day on Fringe was the best.
