So, last month, afrocurl gave me the sage advice that I might, you know, maybe sorta wanna charge my camera before it runs out of batteries in the middle of 12 of 12. In a sudden and uncharacteristic move, I actually took this advice on Monday! And promptly came this close to leaving the entire battery unit at home as I left for the bus. Luckily, it's still pretty well pitch black when I leave the house, and the little orange light alerted me to the fact that something was missing. So, charged batteries and camera in hand, I set forth! And the twelve pictures, they did come.
And it's a good thing too, as the gauntlet has officially been thrown on the matter. That's right, folks. I've been challenged. And I'm enough of a sucker to turn down a challenge. The challenge is such: Half a year, no missed 12 of 12s. So, I've now got three down, three to go, and I'm counting on y'all to keep me from slipping up, lest I lose and one of my characters is forced to suffer some terrible repercussions.
Now, for the twelve:
7:38am: Hello, lover.
12:24pm: Lunche at the Purple Onion!
12:30pm: It was of the good.
1:09pm: Taking the long way back to the office. I like trains.
1:14pm: Really? 1.3 miles? Cause...
1:15pm: ...it looks a little bit farther than that. This is one shot I hope to get every month from here on out. You can see just beyond and beneath the nearest bridge the construction going on on the new bridge (the giant plastic-wrapped thingies), replacing the one lost in the collapse.
1:21pm: These are all over down by the river, some with mirrors like this one, some with just sheer, polished sides. It's kind of wild, and threw me for a bit of a loop first time I stumbled on it last fall. It's more impressive when the sky isn't so flat, but whatev!
3:48pm: A stop at Rustica on the way home for some bread and another chai. ('Cause, yeah, I needed more caffeine yesterday.)
4:15pm: Obligatory Kobi shot. The novelty of that red fur against the snow just never wears off for me. (Why Kobi and not Sachi? Because he's a ham. He will totally sit and pose when I get the camera out, while Sachi just doesn't get it.)
4:49pm: Messy desk is messy.
7:02pm: jPod!!! Why is this show not on here? I love it so much I want to take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant.
11:04pm: I took another picture where you could actually, like, you know, see, but this one actually turned out cooler. Bedtime for Bonzo. Or rather, finishing my glass of wine, reading, and then bedtime for Bonzo. But you get the drift.
