So I realized something today- that I can go for 5 months without updating my livejournal- and it will still be there when I remember that I had it at one point in time. My last journal entry was on January 24th- my first night of class to become and EMT-B. I wrote about how all of the sudden I had so much to do I wasn't sure how to handle it. Well obviously I did quite well by cutting out live journal, lol.
To update- I have my final chapter test tommorrow night, and I have my state test in a mere three weeks. In riding the ambo- I've moved from being the gofer to being a provider. I've even helped saved lives.
In other aspects of my life- I am now a high school graduate, although, I feel there's something symbolic in the fact that my diploma is buried under a stack of course materials for my online hazardous materials course. Yes, I've graduated- but I'm still enrolled in 2 college courses through the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute at UM College Park. Oh yea- and I've also been working about 40 hours a week for the past 3-4 months. At least I finally have some cash.
My parents got me a nice new Palm for graduation. A Palm T/X- and instantly I've become dependent on it- although, for all it's capabilities- it certainly can't predict what time I'll have to go to work- as every day I've been scheduled to work for the past month- I've been called in early.
My stepdad made it home for my graduation- he was home on leave for 2 weeks. He went back to gitmo this past saturday- the same day 2 of the prisoners decided to hang themselves- isn't that lovely?
On the brighter side of things though- Pride is this weekend. I can't wait- I've been looking foward to this probably since my last post in January. Saturday I'm riding the light rail down- so that I'm not obligated to drive back home (teehee :D) and meeting up with some friends. Then sunday I'm goin' up in the morn with someone else- yay! Hell, I'm just happy I get a weekend off- good thing it's on father's day weekend- that's all I had to tell my employer. They ask why, I say "father's day" and it's all good.
Then next friday I go for orientation at Shippensburg. A 2 hour drive at 5:30 in the morning- really looking forward to that. Oh- and I decided not to join the marching band for a horrible feel of over-obligating myself as I did my senior year. It's practice 4 days a week, and games 3 weekends a month. And I have to dedicate at least one weekend a month to going to the fire station to make my 20 hours. So I'm gonna chill for my freshman year and focus on what I have on my plate now- without taking on 5 more plates full of crap. I just can't be stretched so thin again. Though, second semester- we'll see how well all that went, won't we?
Well, for those of you that have read this far, congratulations- you must be really bored, or actually interested in what is going on in my life. So yea, stop being so bored and go do something.
Hoping to post more now-a-days.
