Saturday Morning - Room 228 [locked to Jaye]

Veronica wakes up early, takes a shower and gets dressed. She sits at her desk with a large mug of coffee and pours over the transcripts of all the interviews she's conducted so far into Kitty's death.

She knows she's missing something and she just can't put a finger on what exactly that is

Jaye's completely exhausted when she finds her way back to Veronica's room. Veronica will think she's insane, but if she goesn't go to Mars, she might need to be institutionalized. Then again, as long as there's no singing from anyone but wacky inmates...

She knocks on the door.

Veronica is so involved in her work that she almost misses the knock on the door.

"Come in," she calls distractedly.

[fates_jaye]

Jaye opens the door, poking her head in. "Still no frogs?"

[marsheadtilt]

Veronica looks up and smiles.

"Nope, I had an amphibian free night. How are you?"

[fates_jaye]

"Tired," she answers. "Really, really tired. Look, this is going to sound weird, and feel free to kick me out, but that just means I'm going to have to keep coming back until it's pointless. So I'm supposed to help you with something, but I don't know what it is, and it would thrill me to death if I could do that, so. Help me help you. What do you need?"

Veronica blinks.

"You're supposed to help me with something?"

She glances at the computer in front of her and looks back to Jaye.

"Did Marty ask you to help me?"

[fates_jaye]

Jaye shakes her head. "Nope, not Marty. It, uh, came to me in a dream," she says, deciding that's as good an excuse as any. "And it's just... bothering me, because I'm supposed to do something and I don't know what."

Veronica looks at the computer again. She knows she's missing some vital piece of information that would make it all make sense. She doesn't necessarily believe in psychics, but given some of the other things that have happened at this school, she won't completely discount it.

After a few long moments, she looks at Jaye again. "All right, maybe you can help me," she says. "Did your... dream... give you any indication about how you could help me?"

"There was something about listening to a message, but it was pretty fuzzy," she says.

[marsheadtilt]

Something sparks in Veronica's brain and she pulls up a file on her computer.

She scans the document, her eyes growing wide after a minute.

"Listen to the message. Marty's recorder. He lost it. I wonder..."

She stands up and grabs a jacket. "Want to go for a walk with me?" she asks Jaye.

[fates_jaye]

Jaye's a little startled by this, but her purse isn't giving her any indication of what to do. "Sure," she says. "Where are we going?"

"To find the message we're supposed to listen to," she says, closing the laptop on her way to the door.
