Room 122 - Friday Afternoon/Evening

Jun 30, 2006 18:07

After finally getting out of bed, Veronica returned to her room and spent the morning online making plans for her and Archie's trip to Washington DC the following weekend. She booked a hotel room, bought tickets for RENT and checked to see what special exhibits were going on at the various museums.

Around noon she got a phone call from CameronRead more... )

On her way out of the building Pippi stops by V's room.

"It's unlocked," Veronica calls.

Pippi pokes her head in the door.

"Hey Veronica, how ya doing?"

"I'm doing pretty well," Veronica tells her with a smile. "And you?"

[ooc: V never invites anyone in because of vampires.]

Pippi takes a step into the door thus proving she's not a vampire... right now.

"Really? I'm so glad, Nadia was saying that you seemed tired last night. Anyway, I just realised something. I think I know where the creature is. The one with the tentacles on its back... Or at least where it used to be."

"I actually got some sleep last night," Veronica explains with a fond smile. She quickly snaps to attention though.

"You do? Where? Sit down, tell me everything."

Pippi sat down. "Nadia told you about my crystal ball ya?" she asked. "Well I saw the thing with the tentacles burrow into the ground in a clearing in some woods, and it seemed really familiar. But I couldn't put my finger on it and it was really bothering me. But then I realized that there was this very young tree in the clearing my crystal ball showed me. And it was kinda funny looking. Like the top of it was damaged and kinda... 'tweeked' looking. But that was 200 years ago it was showing to me. If what I saw and what Isabel read are the same thing. So that sapling would be much bigger now..."

"So if we can find that tree, we can find where the creature was buried 200 years ago," Veronica said. "There's an awful lot of trees out there though."

Pippi grinned back at her.

"Ah but here's the thing, there is a tree, a very tall tree, that you can see from the roof of this building. And that tree has a funny looking top that's kinda 'tweeked' and bent to the side. And all last semester I'd always wondered where that tree is. And this summer, I found out. And I've been there quite a few times. We all have."

And suddenly things fell into place. "The main campfire," Veronica said. "Something about us being out there telling ghost stories unleashed all these ghosts."

She shook her head, silently berating herself for not figuring it out sooner.

"Entirely likely." Pippi said. "I'd hate to think it was Miss Becky's class that triggered it."

"I should have figured that out. The Winchesters were even asking me about that the other night," Veronica said with a sigh.

"Well, you've had a sucky week, it's not like you weren't trying. It certainly took me long enough."

"We were lucky to have your help," Veronica said. "I'll talk to Piper and Phoebe and see if they can find a vanquishing potion or spell or something."

"Hey, helpin' is what I like best." she said getting up. "Next to rhubarb pudding. Let me know if you need somebody to hold down tentacle-back-jerk-face while you kick him in the head before Piper and Phoebe vanquish him back to Hadies."
