Late Friday Night (private/NFB)
Veronica gets home after spending most of her evening at the Perk, first talking to Marty and then interviewing Angelus. At least her articles are done.
It's late and she's tired. She pulls her cell phone out of her bag and plugs it in to the charger while she changes into her pajamas.
After a couple of minutes, the phone beeps, indicating that she has a message. She frowns, but realizes that her battery must have been completely dead.
She calls in to her voicemail and her eyes widen when she hears the message.
She's ready to go and find Illyana and get this whole thing out of the way once and for all when she notices the clock. She sighs. She can't believe she has detention tomorrow. She completely forgot about turning in her Journalism homework before she went back to Neptune for a visit. But she isn't about to miss detention or show up exhausted as she's heard horror stories about previous weeks detentions.
Making a mental note to call Illyana back as soon as she gets home from detention, she crawls into bed and falls asleep, where she has nightmares of what may happen tomorrow.
