Veronica woke up in a relatively good mood. After talking to Nadia on the roof yesterday, she felt a little calmer about everything that had happened. Taking cookies to Pip and Archie had helped improve her mood as well - it gave her a little lift to make someone else smile.

Piper wandered into the common area, rubbing her eyes. She hadn't slept well last night. She was almost too tired to make coffee, but she was desperate for caffeine.

Veronica looked over her shoulder from the counter where she'd just successfully made coffee. The NyQuil thing seemed to be happening less, which she was grateful for.

She poured a cup for Piper and handed it to her. "Rough night?" she asked as she prepared her own coffee.

Veronica frowned, thinking about her conversation with Nadia yesterday. "Want to talk about it?" she asked, going to curl up in the chair.

She shrugged. "In my mind, giving him a second chance implies that there is some trust or expectation of trust though."

"Thanks," Veronica said. "That means a lot."

She stared in to her coffee cup.

"I've been hurt by so many people I trusted that it's hard for me to trust someone who's hurt me," she said softly, thinking about her mother and Duncan.
