Room 228 - Saturday Morning

Veronica woke up and rolled over to snuggle next to Logan.

But he wasn't there.

She rubbed her eyes and looked around the room. Her eyes fell on a piece of paper on the nightstand.

Hey Beautiful,

Wish I could stay, but I'm cursed with detention. I'll call you later.

Detention? She wasn't sure she wanted to know

Jake had checked V's room. There was no V there. This left him momentarily bewildered, but then he knew where to try next. He walked back down and knocked on Logan's door.

Veronica was half asleep when she heard knocking.

"Who is it?" she called, not quite remembering that (1) she wasn't in her own room and (2) she wasn't wearing anything.

"It's Jake. Is that you, Veronica? Can I talk to you for a second?" Jake asked, leaning up against the door.

[marsheadtilt]

"Um, yeah, sure, come..." She sat up. "Oh wait, give me a minute!"

She grabbed for the nearest article of clothing, which happened to be the shirt Logan was wearing last night, and pulled it on as she jumped out of the bed. Good thing she was short, the shirt hit mid thigh. She buttoned it quickly and went over to open the door.

"What's up?" she asked, smoothing her hair with one hand.

Jake stopped himself from falling on top of her, then blinked. V in a shirt... He briefly looked pained as the idea of Logan having sex crossed his mind. He shook his head. "Hey, I need to borrow something like a cheerleader uniform. Can you help me out?"

Veronica blinked.

Then she stepped back so Jake could enter the room and closed the door.

"Do I want to know?"

Jake entered, blinked a little at the candles, then turned to V again. "It's for my very elaborate revenge plan. So, can you help?"

Veronica's cheeks flushed as she realized how the room looked, the sheets all tangled and clothing strewn everywhere.

"Um, maybe," she said. "I don't have anything, but I might know someone who does."

She went to find her purse, pulled out her phone and hit the speed dial button for Lilly.

Lilly answers her phone after only a few rings, knowing that her Kelly Clarkson 'Miss Independent' ringtone was Veronica.

"Hey babe, how was your date?"

"It was good," she replied vaguely.

"Hey, listen, I have a kind of weird question to ask. Do you have your pep squad uniform with you?"

"You mean, like, the bloody one?" she asks, a little confused.

[marsheadtilt]

Veronica frowned. "Um, like any one," she said. "Jake needs something like a cheerleading outfit."

"Hold on," she says quickly, sounding a little muffled on the phone. There are some rustling noises, and a thump, and then after a few more moments of silence Lilly's voice returns, clear and triumphant.

"I have my uniform from freshman year still," she confirms. "Clarence sent it to me with the rest of my stuff that my parents put in storage after... you know. Jake can totally have it if he wants. I'll leave the door unlocked to our suite, so if I'm not here, tell him to just grab it off the table."

"Do I even want to know?"

[marsheadtilt]

"I know I don't," she said with a chuckle. "And I'll send him up. Thanks, Lilly. I'll talk to you later, okay?"

"You bet your ass, Mars," Lilly laughs. "Don't think I'm not going to require a full rundown of last night's events from you."

"Catch you later," she sing-songs with a giggle, hanging up the phone before Veronica can groan uncomfortably or hiss at Lilly.

Veronica shook her head and closed her phone.

"Lilly Kane has a pep squad outfit that you can borrow. She in 422/424 and said you can stop by. If she's not there, she said she'll leave the door unlocked for you," she said to Jake, being careful not to move too much so Logan's shirt doesn't expose anything Jake doesn't need to see.
