Random Shiz
- Spending way too much money this month. Not entirely on wasteful things, but just annoyed this month has been very expensive by my standards, in the mid-hundreds overall.
- Am happy I've got to see lots of friends this month, and will next month as well. Just about everyone I know is 1-2 hours+ away so I don't get out enough really, and most people I know around here just sort of faded out, you know?
- Still a lot of summer movies to catch up on (I think Wolverine is already out of theaters, meh), like Terminator/Up/Away We Go/etc. Steve-o treated me to an exclusive screening of Land Of The Lost, which wasn't bad, but I wouldn't have paid to see it. They really butchered the marketing for it, and it's gonna cost Will Ferell a lot in the future. Drag Me To Hell was excellent, very on-par with the Evil Dead trilogy also by Sam Raimi. The Hangover was great, very rewatchable, hope the sequel isn't butchered.
- Went to probably the smallest concert I've ever been to at Pearl Street to see Since October/Burn Halo/The Veer Union/Halestorm. Literally found out about the show 3 hours before it started, so sucked I had no one to go with really, but all the bands were great and it was neat to be in such a small, private, rough venue (literally the basement), and neat to meet all the bands after. Will try to see Halestorm against when they play with Staind/Chevelle/Shinedown at BOA Pavilion next month. Although they're getting fairly popular now, it'd be great to look back one day and say I met a band when they were just starting out after they just blew up. Sidenote, I really freakin' miss knowing women that are into hard rock. I won't get into a mess trying to file what bands fit what particular genre, but just miss going to shows in general I guess.
- Poker has sucked this month. Not playing well, not running well, etc. Not in the red, but not much in the green either, need a big 9 days from here on out.
