Some Firsts and Seconds
So the past few weeks have been somewhat eventful, I suppose. Been hitting the bars with Kristina and Pre, and I guess they aren't all they're cracked up to be for me, mostly because we didn't stay at any of them particularly long, and they sort of cockblock me anyway. I dunno, I don't see myself doing too well in picking up women or anything there, though it might be a different story if I'm absolutely obliterated (it helps to order five drinks at a time). Also I understand the importance of pre-gaming now (mostly on the wallet).
Went to see Kurt Elling for a second time in Boston with Eoin on Thursday. Although no one would actually get the joke besides him and I, I brought a banana to the show, and went up to Kurt after his set. He has a track on his 2003 album "Man In The Air" called "The Uncertainty of a Poet"
Anywho, I asked him after the show if he was a poet. He gave me some long-winded answer that honestly I can't remember, I just wanted a payoff here. So I whip out the banana, which unfortunately the stem had broken off the the outside turned brown. I said "so then you must be fond of..BANANAS!" He commented that he'd take it if it weren't rotten. Dejected, I walked out, though the show was pretty decent, I'm looking forward to getting his new album, especially with the song "The Sleepers", with the lyrics of a Walt Whitman poem. Also, he did a drunken encore of "Space Cowboy" which was hil-arious.
I hate being sick and in debt :(
