Plenty of goodies here
If I stopped being a slacker and updated this once or twice a week, I wouldn't have to write up these long, epic updates. But that's the way it is, and what else is break for?
Finals weren't too bad, perhaps the least stressful yet. I only had around 4 days and change to study for my History up to Reconstruction and Democracy and Discourse finals, but had a B+/A in those classes, so just needed to not bomb the finals. Thankfully everything my TA said to study for was on the History exam, so that was a breeze. I actually bombed the Democracy final, getting an 84 (other exams I got 92/94), so hopefully my 92.5 average rounds up to a 93 and big fat A.
I had actually had motivation to get my Arab Cinema script done early, which was a 16-page parody of most of the films we saw in-class/at the New Asian Film Festival, and it came off pretty funny to me. Rushed through the rationale paper, but pretty sure I got a B locked up there and the script is hella funny, so good times. Good shot at getting part of it put up on the FAC website as well.
I had a little fear for my Legal Studies final since many people wrote around 10-15 pages for the longer essay question. But we got to bring 8x11 sheets filled with whatever info we wanted, so I just had to thrown down summaries of legal pluralism, legal consciousness articles that we read about law school and gay men/junkie women with AIDS, and the differences between Before/With/Against The Law, and I was golden. Took a full two hours to write it, but probably went 20-25 pages deep of Blue Book, and pretty sure I did ok, should be able to lock up a B-/B.
Ugh, I spent 10 straight hours on the 25-page ending of my first screenplay, and after some review, I half-assed the ending unfortunately, which might ruin it all. I was 27 pages deep and didn't have much gas left, so that's partially to blame. Overall I think it has some hope though, and I'll continue revising it as winter break crawls along.
Past few weeks have been drama-bomb-filled as well, but I'm not going to get into it. I've though it through and honestly I've never been more angry with shit like this than I have recently. I'm over it though, w/e. One person I'm pretty sure is out of my life, and to quote that person rather ironically, "I don't give a fuckkkkk hehehhehe". The other I prob. came down on too hard, but I have a very defensive nature, and I'd rather not relive any bad memories of my middle-school days.
I gotta lot of goals for this new year and semester, damned if I'm not going to fulfill most of them. Maybe I'll list them here, but some are pretty personal (and make me look bad), so we'll see.
