Music as a Weapon 3

So last Sunday night was Music as a Weapon 3 (maybe 2, I think 3). Pretty awesome lineup with Nonpoint, Flyleaf, Stone Sour and Disturbed. I'd seen Nonpoint before at either Ozzfest 01' or 02' (likely 2002) on the second stage, and Disturbed at 01' Ozzfest mainstage (though they opened and we were far away on the lawn, so not as cool). Was really looking forward to Flyleaf (and I had actually heard more than just their singles too), and curious about Stone Sour (I knew they had other hits besides "Bother", just too lazy to hear them).

So I get myself a floor seat the first day they're on sale. Go with Brian and meet up with Steve-o and others in the parking lot. Took forever to get in, and we're in towards the beginning of Nonpoint's set. Fairly desolate in the seats, I guess Amherst isn't much of a rock town (f u Bob Dylan). Nonpoint was unspectacular, meh. Flyleaf didn't get much respect, but were pretty awesome.

I was blown away by Stone Sour, as the lead singer had some serious energy/awesome look/worked the crowd well. GET INSIDE MOTHERFUCKER!

Disturbed was everything I hoped they would be. The occasional pyrotechnics were well-placed and loud as hell. The pits were rather disturbing, far more violent than I had ever seen (and they are pretty intense for Slipknot so I've seen some big ones). I can say that I seriously appreciate all of these bands music more after this concert. Best $35 I ever spent.
