F U Poker

So the past...three weeks or so have been total hell. Not as bad as last June/July when I was just getting destroyed at PLO, but now it's just everything. Ran up a good HU record on FT for PLO SNGs at around 9-4, then went to get pissed on and quit when I got to 14-13, including losing 6 of 7 and three in a row to one guy  (the last two losses took all of 2 hands, one where I flopped top two and a gutshot, he flopped top and bottom pair and runner-runnered a 8-high flush, and the second he moved in with bottom pair against my AAxx on the flop and rivered two pair). Also had 4-5 underfulls outdrawn by 2-outers on the river.

Qualifying for any WSOP event period has been an absolute joke. Got through 1/2 the field in one of the Bracelet Races on Full Tilt when I raised AQ from the button, SB jammed and I called, he showed K6 and put me on a bluff. Flop AQx, of course turn J river T. I lose 3/4 of my stack, then build it back up, and lose it in a 3-way all-in preflop pot against two maniacs with TT against AK and Q9o (Q9o raised and called two pushes). Flop J23 two clubs, turn J, river 3c giving Qx9c the win of course. Mansion satellites have kicked me in the groin. Was chipleader on the bubble with 4 getting seats and 5 left, and the SS doubled up 4 times. It was a turbo, and 2nd biggest stack kept moving in  everytime it was my BB and his SB. WTF. Everyone else gets it folded around to their BB, how nice. Eventually big stack keeps limplimplimping in and I shove with KQs, and he obviously shows AA and flops quads, very nice. Combined for Party and Mansion satellites, I bust to the following hands in the past week (I'm short-stacked all but one time) - AA, AA, AA, JJ, JJ, AK, AA. Twice I have AQs, AKs once, and QQ another.

Try to build my roll with 1/2 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, and proceed to get crushed, move down to .50/1 and get crushed again. Let's see if I can dig up some Hand Histories for that and others:

Here's a few where I hit the worse card in the deck:

So I've done the best thing (ha right) and moved my remaining roll over to Bodog to take up some MLB sports betting, mostly on team props and straight-up games. Might as well do something with my fantasy baseball expertise. Today was not great, did get unlucky with the Dbacks/Brewers game, as Capuano does not get bombed to that tune too often. FU Brandon Lyon.

2-3 for the day

Mets beat Cubs - loss (Mets Bullpen sans Wagner/Heilman/whoever their setup guy is SUCKS, and blew the game)

D-backs vs. Brewers, under 8 1/2 runs scored overall - loss  (8-1, ugh leave Webb in for 8 and I win)

Rangers beat Orioles - loss (Bad idea to bet against Bedard, but O's were 1-22 vs. lefties this season, and Rheinecker isn't terrible, but decided to be today)

Rockies vs. Reds, Hits/Runs/Errors under 29 1/2 - win (23 I think was the total here, pretty good bet as Aaron Cook/Bronson Arroyo are their best starters, and Rockies not as likely to hit well on the road, though Great American isn't a bad hitters park itself. Reds ridding themselves of Lopez certainly helps in the error department).

Braves beat Padres - win (Smoltz had thrown something like 22 scoreless innings against the Pads this season, and Padres relievers have been pretty bad lately, but Braves won this handily, Smoltz is their only sure thing).

I have money on the White Sox beating the Yankees tomorrow, as they will play hard not to get swept and Wright is easily the most vulnerable Yankee pitcher at 2-4 with a 5.50 ERA/1.76 WHIP and .326 BAA at home this year, along with not getting past the seventh inning. Garcia has not been spectacular at all this year, but owns a 4-2 record career vs. NY, with 3.72/1.03/.202 ERA/WHIP/BAA, pretty good numbers. I'll see if I can pick up "Sharp Sports Betting" by Stanford Wong sometime soon, but I'm not overly concerned with the lines yet since I'm betting straight-up for the most part. I don't claim to know what I'm doing, so save the criticism here. I'm minbetting at the moment, so don't blurt out I'm going busto here, I won't. Just giving this a shot for a couple weeks and seeing how this works out. I need a break from poker anyway.
