New puppy
We got a new little puppy 8 days ago and what a joy she is. She doesn't even weigh 1 lb she just turned 7 weeks old and is full of life. When we first got her she wasn't the most stable on her feet, but now she zips everywhere. I sit in the chair in the living room and just watch as she races from one end of the room to the other, while being chased by our other dogs. She zooms in and out of the furniture and under the furniture, places where our other dogs can not fit. She loves going under the sofa just out of the reach of the other dogs darting in and out and barking at them, while they try desperately to reach under there to get her. She is such a happy, sweet and loving little sweetie. However, I forgot what it is like to have a puppy again, they sleep and awaken every couple of hours, which means I am awakened every couple of hours during the night. I get up and take her outside during the middle of the night so she doesn't have an accident in the house. Interrupted sleep is no fun and sleep depravation really sucks. I will be glad when she sleeps through the night, which in return will mean I sleep through the night. Today is her first vet visit for her first series of shots and exam and it will be a relief to know the first shots will offer her some protection against disease and she can get out a little more without worry.
