Well we've been discharged with no excitement or upheaval. Good thing we extended our stay yesterday, because they're booked because of the hurricaine.
Lisa's hip dressing was coming undone this morning, so the doctor took it off . When he did, it broke something loose, and it bled for a bit. Ever since, it's been draining a good bit. I could see a whole bunch of fluid under the skin, so I expressed a bunch and applied pressure for about 5 min. It's still draining but not as much. I was thinking, just what I need is a wound problem here in a hotel room. But noone would have done anything differently that what I did at this point. Hopefully it will go ahead and get all that stuff out and then slow down. Her hip site has not caused her near the pain that I had anticipated. I've always heard that the graft site hurts worse than the surgical site, but not for Lisa. PT showed me how to help her with her range of motion in her ankle. She mentioned pushing a gas pedal, and Lisa and I both perked up. She's been pretty bummed about the thought of not being able to drive a stick shift ever again. With the mobility that she already has, it looks like it's a real possiblity that she will be able to do that. It's very exciting that we're back on track for the best possible outcome.
She came out by the pool and played with the computer and Brodie and ate a pizzza for a snack this afternoon. The weather is beautiful here. Now she's napping, I hope.
Still watching the storm. Still have some models saying east coast and some saying west coast, and all indicated strengthening before landfall. Will update tomorrow unless we have some excitement.
