[Rei is sitting on the steps of the Temple of Heaven, reading an old leather bound book. For the most part, her surroundings look fairly untouched by the flooding -- it's the perk of living in a building with a massive staircase leading up to it. You're fairly high up and safe.
It looks like the feed started a little early, for Rei's liking -- but

Her expression of surprise soon melts into exasperation as she presses the book into her lap, tilting her head up a little to look at him.]
You have a PCD, you know.
[Then, Rei pauses, before she frowns.]
-- did something happen?

You were speaking with Raphael.

Great. Now she has a pissy former archangel on her stoop. 8(]
I'm fine.

At the moment.
However, I distinctly remember asking you not to talk to her.

Did you really come all the way over here to yell at me? Sit down.

Not only were you speaking with her, but you were antagonizing her.

... I spent a week trapped inside, surrounded by water, Cas, and she was mocking us.
[But because he's not going to understand or care about that line of reasoning, Rei continues, though it's with some reluctance.]
I lost my temper. I'm sorry.

You know that if you and she end up in a confrontation, it won't be simply you, or me, that become involved.
[Yes, he's going to go the guilting route, though not intentionally. But not only would he come to her aid, but then so likely would Gabriel, as well as half the city unrelated to the angels, then the other archangels would join in as well, and it would be a disaster.]

I know.

Of course, he can't really tell, and he doesn't bother to ask. So he just stares at her.]

Explain or not.
Rei rolls her eyes to the sky to think.]
...I'm really tired of this place and how I'm always waiting for the peace to end. That's all.
[If it's not Raphael, it's going to be something else. And the sheer frustration in just waiting is not in her nature. Neither is hiding. And while Rei understands his annoyance and concern and, no doubt, fear, as he isn't as powerful as he once was, it only makes her more frustrated, because it only reinforces the certainty that something horrible is going to happen.]

I am as well.
[He understands, and it's somewhat comforting that she does too. He's tired of fighting and being constantly ready for something to happen, though that's nothing new since he's been here; it's the same way at home. There's never peace, even for a short time. He was beginning to wonder if Balthazar had been right, when his brother had told him the fighting would never stop.]
However, we can't change that right now. We simply have to deal with it.
[Which was of course easier said than done, especially now that he had even less power than before.]

[She huffs the hair out of her eyes, frustrated.]
I've been just -- dealing with it since I got here.
[She pauses in her tiny tirade before falling silent, her shoulders slumping as she stares into her lap. There's a few moments more of silence before Rei hands the book in her lap to him, a silent offer. It's the Bible.]
... Usagi asked me, earlier, if you guys were really angels.
I thought I'd try to understand where you all come from.

I know, and I understand.
[He takes the offered book, glancing down at it. He knew every page, not just of this version but of all the major ones published, in every language it was originally written in.
He looks over at Rei at her comment, head tilted slightly. Normally, he didn't bother to prove what he was to anyone--he generally didn't care if anyone believed him, as it changed nothing if they didn't--but it did matter, strangely, for some individuals. Rei was one of them, though she seemed not to be questioning herself, rather just curious.]
We are. What is the reason for the doubt?
[He pauses a moment, then makes an offer.]
If you have any questions, you can simply ask. The Bible is not the most accurate of works regarding us.

[She purses her lips slightly.]
I think she was just disappointed to find out that angels are just as human as we are. That's all.
[She doesn't say that asking the angels about whether or not they're actually angels defeats the purpose of asking at all, though she appreciates the offer.]
