Where are all the funny bitches?
So I've read and re-read Jenny Lawson's book, and I've read all the Laurie Notaro books and Mindy Kaling's, and I tried to read Tina Fey's book, Kindle sample, but didn't buy it because 5 pages in she'd already mentioned being slashed by a stranger in her own yard when she was 5 years old and made a passing reference to John Wayne Gacy.
I know it wasn't her intent, but sorry, you can't freak a parent out that much that early on in the book.
So who else is funny? I don't mean provocative highbrow social commentary funny, I mean like Jenny Lawson's story about being stuck in her bathroom and what her cat did. Side-splittingly, laugh helplessly or at least chuckle out loud funny.
I can't find anything else.
Why is there so much romance and dumb s&m smut but no funny, sarcastic, personable, quirky, clever women out there?
This is the part when I suggest that you write your own e-book, Betsy. Maybe a compilation of your funniest LJ posts and/or columns.
