Way back when...
Back when i was a wee lad, i knew just what the future would look like.
It was the late 80s... and the future would look like blade runner or Akira.
This seemed obvious.
Then the 90s came along and the future still looked like blade runner or Akira,
only with added shitty CGI, more kung-fu and Keanu Reeves (over and over and over again..)
And (best of all) the future now had HARSH AND POUNDING INDUSTRIAL SOUNDTRACK.
This last part pleased me.
(and distracted me from the shitty CGI and Keanus' attempts at acting.)
and now, we are in the year 2007AD and what does the future look like?
Well, like blade runner or akira, with added shitty CGI and more kung-fu.
(and a HARSH AND POUNDING INDUSTRIAL SOUNDTRACK. of course)
But now we have Bai Ling as a scantily-clad goth/robot/kung-fu/badass
Now THIS is what i call progress.

(i do believe Nick told me about this film aaaaages ago, but i'd forgotten all about it until its official myspace page befriended the chainsaw dinosaur profile today, i have a soft spot for this kind of thing and look forward to it greatly. Heck, i almost enjoyed Johnny Mnemonic, so i doubt this film will dissapoint.)
