Spent half the damn day today, fighting off sleep at the DREADED NCO leadership PME. Basically the CO yells at us about not doing our jobs as leaders and marines. He then tells us how great he was when he was our rank, and how we should emulate everything he does, because he's the perfect being. One part of his speech is what he beleives are the 4 different types of marines. The 4 year enlister, the pentioner, the career, and some bull shit he made up called the INNOVATOR! The first is the guy (me) who enlists temporarily and refuses to see his career in the military going any further. He says this like a it's an evil despicable thing, like how dare you enlist in my marine corps to further your own ambitions. Supposedly we are the guys who don't get anything done and spend all day doing jack shit. Personally I work my ass off all day in my opinion, and I don't waste everyone's precious man hours to fill the void and my dull lifeless ego. Yet, I'm the vile one. The one who sees my self elsewhere in the future and doing what I beleive to be greater things. The pentioner is the guy who stays in just longer enough to to get the minimum retirement. I can understand these guys abit, although, why waste your life doing this for a steady paycheck in the mail, when you can be doing something makes you happier. The Career guy is the one who makes the crap system still exist. This is the real culprit, the guy whose just there to get a paycheck, and do nothing else better with his life except fight the wars we really shouldn't be fighting. Saying bullshit like, I'll go where ever the president says I should cause i'm a brainless idiot, with a college degree in business managment, because war fighting is a business, I guess. The last and the worst the ""INNOVATOR"" is the idiot in your shop who screams cadence at the top of his lungs, thoroughly annoying everyone into leaving the shop just to get away from his stupidity. He also usually has no rhythm what so ever, talks to you in the hallway by shouting, and calls every retarded thing he does MOTIVATION, and DEDICATION to the corps, and doesn't know a wrench from a popsicle stick, becuase lets face it, he's mentally retarded and should have never made through MCEP. BUT, instead of calling it what it is, we'll promote him faster than everyone else through meritorious boards. Giving this idiot a position of power in the shop. As long as morons run the show we'll always be the last to be funded and our projects will always be pushed back.
