I believe I am beginning to feel the same way. [She steps inside, shaking her hair out to settle it. This close it's not hard to see that she's unhappy. Her ears are set back and her tail is tucked against her clothes.]

Funny, how he tries so hard to push me away from him. He says he doesn't want me to be afraid, that he does not wish to hurt me. But every time he does this he wounds me deeper. If I cannot keep believers, I'm going to die.

I don't want to fade away again. Not here, not away from Nippon. I want to see it once again, I want to hear the winds in Taka Pass and see the blossoms of Konohana in full bloom. I want to hear Ushiwaka's flute and see Issun's paintings, and I can't. I want to go back to my islands, I want to feel the grass beneath my feet and the wind off the sea.
