Our friendly and awesome admin (I even forgive the fact that she is a huge Jets fan with a dog named Revis) took us here tonight. Her husband is the chef so we managed to snag a table without reservation. We were treated a selection of his favorite dishes, and this place didn't disappoint. Every dish was hearty, delicious, and prepared simply but tastefully. If I had to pick favorites, the best was ravioli con uovo - a ricotta cheese ravioli with egg yolk that was simply divine. An appetizer that featured poached egg with herring on top was awesome and brought me back to the roots, while the bread pudding was one of the better desserts I have had recently. I would say that the pasta and appetizer dishes were more adventurous than the entrees, but they (lamb, chicken, and fish) were well-made. At the insistence of my companions, I took the leftovers, and was suprised with two loaves of fresh bread as extras.
